Podere Castelfidardo opens for guests on 15 May 2008. We are taking reservations now and it is important to book early if you are planning to attent events at the Circuito del Mugello racetrack.
Podere Castelfidardo is a newly restored farmhouse located near Pontassieve, 20 minutes by frequent trains from the centre of Florence.
We offer six double Bed & Breakfast rooms, two on the ground floor and four on the first floor. Each room has a modern en suite bathroom, as well as television and safe. Beds can be double or two singles. One of the ground floor rooms is suitable for anyone with reduced mobility.
The house is situated on a hill overlooking the village of Molino del Piano, 2 km from Sieci railway station and 15 km from the centre of Florence. The house is surrounded by vineyards with views of the surrounding hills, and has a huge terrace and swimming pool for the enjoyment of our guests.
Breakfast is included in the price and in summer is served on the terrace.Traditional Tuscan dinners are available upon request in our dining room.

What to see and do during your vacation at Podere Castelfidardo
● Visits to Florence. The architecture, museums, shopping and restaurants of Florence will undoubtedly be one of your main destinations during your holiday here in Tuscany. The best way to reach Florence from Podere Castelfidardo is to drive or walk the 2 km to Sieci station and take one of the frequent trains to Florence Santa Maria Novella station. The journey takes about 20 minutes. In this way you avoid all potential traffic and parking hassles, and save travel time as well.
● Visit Fiesole. From Podere Castelfidardo take the turnoff at Compiobbi. By this route, Fiesole is closer than central Florence and accessed via a lightly-travelled and scenic country road. Visit the Roman ruins and famous villa architecture, while enjoying the wonderful views out over Florence and the Arno Valley.
● Chianti Classico tour. Immediately south of the Arno, one enters the "Classico" area of the Chianti wine zone where the scenic Chiantigiana highway runs from Florence to Siena, by way of Greve, Panzano, Castellina and other beautiful Tuscan hill towns. There are numerous castles and wine tasting opportunities throughout the route.
● Outlet Shopping at The Mall, Leccio, is just 15 km away. Try your luck for reduced price Gucci, Prada and many other high fashion items.
● Wine tasting on the Chianti Rùfina and Pomino wine road along the Sieve Valley road which starts at Pontassieve, 5 km from Podere Castelfidardo, and winds into the Mugello. Among the numerous wineries is Castello del Trebbio and there is an excellent wine museum at Villa Poggio Reale.
● Casentino - a day tour to the Casentino area of the Upper Arno Valley. This beautiful area is off the beaten track and yet in addition to magnificent mountain scenery is home to Poppi and Castello Poppi (43 km), voted one of the most beautiful villages in Italy.
● The Mugello. It is hard to believe that an area so wild is only 30 minutes from Florence. The Mugello is the homeland of the Medici family and in addition to its natural scenery it is dotted with castles, watchtowers and villas, not the least being Villa Cafaggiolo.
● The Faentina railway. From Potassieve there is an extremely scenic railway circuit to Borgo San Lorenzo, Florence and back. On certain days of the year, steam engines run on part of this track on the way from Florence to Faenza and Ravenna. This trans-Appenine train trip is excellent value with any type of engine.

Payment Conditions
We request a 30% deposit paid by bank transfer at the time of confirmation of your reservation. This deposit is forfeited for cancellations made less than 60 days prior to arrival. The balance should be paid upon arrival in cash.
We offer our guests the opportunity to enjoy seasonal specialities for dinner at home.
Dinner costs 35 euros per person and includes a starter of mixed crostini, local sliced meats and cheeses, two first courses, a main course with vegetables, dessert accompanied by our vin santo, and coffee or liqueur after dinner. Mineral water and two types of wine produced on our property are included.

The Circuito del Mugello is a famous superbike track that is also used for Formula One training. There are also possibilities to drive your own car or bike on the track. Enthusiasts should check the programme since the track is only 29 km from Podere Castelfidardo along a lightly travelled route. Podere Castelfidardo is an ideal place to stay when you are attending events at Mugello Racetrack.

How to reach "Podere Castellofidado"
From Florence and Rome: exit the autostrada A1 at Firenze Sud and take the highway SS67 in the direction of Pontassieve. When you arrive at Sieci, turn to the left towards Molino del Piano, enter the town and continue through it towards Doccia. Take the first turn to the right and then immediately to the left onto via di Rimaggio, continue right to the end, enter the driveway and continue upwards as far as the house.
From Bologna: take the A1 as far as Firenze Sud or instead exit the A1 at Barberino del Mugello, direction Borgo San Lorenzo, and continue along the SP551 as far as Dicomano. Change onto the SS67, direction Firenze, to reach Sieci, turn off to Molino del Piano and continue as above.
